AN EVENING WITH SNATAM KAUR coming on Dec. 5th, 2013!

Picture
Concert, chantfest, musical group meditation, a yoga class in melody . . . how best to describe a live performance by Snatam Kaur and her band? It’s all of these things and more. Seated center stage, Snatam is an angelic presence, dressed in traditional Sikh attire, bejeweled dress, white turban and veil.

Her divinely melodic songs are based on traditional Sikh mantras. But to these Snatam adds her own lyrics in English — simple, heartfelt verses that express the personal meanings these sacred syllables hold for her and help the audience forge their own emotional  connection. On stage and on tour, devotional singer Snatam Kaur is a pure channel of divine light. She performs sacred chants with a polished intensity that is transforming a global audience with each note of every performance.

The 2013 tour continues Snatam’s inheritance as one of the most celebrated touring sacred singers performing in the world today. This is a woman who walks it like she talks it . . . or sings it. Snatam Kaur brings out a bit of the divine peacemaker in all of us.

Stay tuned for more ticket and venue information.

Mirabai Ceiba is coming back to South Florida Feb. 2014!

Picture
Stay in touch, we're putting together plans to bring Markus, Angelika and Bogdan back to South Florida for the 4th year! We are blessed to have them coming back for more joyous chanting.

A gentle yet expansive spirit pervades all the music of Mirabai Ceiba. The delicate sounds of harp, piano, and guitar blend with lovingly intertwined voices amid lush celestial soundscapes. Their concerts are group celebrations for peace – joyous and loving occasions that embody the duo’s profound belief in music as a universal language uniting all the world’s peoples, cultures and traditions.

Mirabai Ceiba is a duo consisting of guitarist/singer Markus Sieber and singer/harpist/keyboardist Angelika Baumbach. They come from different parts of the world. Markus is East German. Angelika was born in Tucson, Arizona, and grew up in a small village near Mexico City, the daughter of a Mexican mother and German father.

Together, Angelika and Markus have forged engaging new style of world devotional music blending Gurmukhi mantras from the Kundalini Yoga tradition with original songs in English and Spanish that reflect a Native American influence and also draw words of wisdom from Rumi, Thich Nhat Hanh, Guru Nanak and Yogi Bhajan.

They are traveling this year with a new addition to the troupe with the addition of Bogdan Djucik. Bogdan’s passionate virtuosity and electrifying stage presence made him a fan favorite when he performed with Beyond the Pale.  A captivating performer in every sense, Bogdan’s magnetic personality and infectious joy in playing music radiates to both the audience and his bandmates.  His background in classical music combines with a deep affinity for folk music to create the perfect blend of precision and soul. A former winner of three national violin championships in his native Yugoslavia, Bogdan came to Canada in 1999 and has since had extensive performance experience in klezmer, classical, Mariachi, Latin and Serbian folk music. Bogdan is also a member of the touring violin stage show Bowfire, the jazz/Balkan fusion groupBlok, and the Mirobolus String Trio.

“Their music comes from a pure space of love and devotion. It is soothing, peaceful, and very meditative.”
Deva Premal

“Mirabai Ceiba with this album (Awakened Earth) and with their music, give themselves without hesitation to the spirit within us all. In this way of passionate giving, they take us into this divine realm of spirit that we all long for.”
